Registrar’s Message
Dear Trainee,
May I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to you and to congratulate you on making a positive and commendable decision to join Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP).
The Office of the Registrar – Administration plays a vital role in the academic journey of our trainees. We are responsible for:
- Coordinating trainee admissions,
- Maintaining and safeguarding academic records,
- Marketing our programmes, and
- Offering general administrative support.
Our primary goal is to support you in acquiring relevant skills and knowledge aligned with your career goals and personal aspirations.
The office is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals who provide efficient, student-centered, and service-oriented support. The team comprises:
- Registrar – Administration
- Deputy Registrar – Administration
- Administrative Assistant – Admissions
- Administrative Assistant – Customer Care
- Records Administrator – Registry
- Data Officer
As a team, we are committed to fostering a culture of high performance and continually enhancing the trainee experience. With specialized expertise in areas such as enrolment and academic records management, we are always exploring better ways to serve you. We welcome your constructive feedback to help improve our service delivery.
Kenya Coast National Polytechnic is duly registered and accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013, with registration number TVETA/PUBLIC/NP/0002/2016.
We admit both Government-Sponsored and Self-Sponsored trainees:
- Government-Sponsored trainees are placed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Interested candidates may apply for our programmes through the KUCCPS portal.
- Self-Sponsored trainees may apply directly by filling in application forms available at the Polytechnic or on our website.
We work closely with government bodies such as KUCCPS, TVETA, and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to ensure our programmes comply with statutory requirements and national education policies.
We also have a dedicated KUCCPS/HELB help desk located adjacent to the Customer Care Office to assist you with placement, funding inquiries, and other related services. Our staff at this desk are ready to guide and support you with accurate information and timely assistance.
Before embarking on your studies, please ensure that you have been placed in the correct class based on your KCSE mean grade and the entry requirements for your chosen programme.
