Human Resource Department
At Kenya Coast National Polytechnic, the Human Resource (HR) Department plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment. Established in October 2018, the department is manned by qualified HR professionals who are members of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
The department is responsible for attracting, recruiting, and developing a skilled and motivated workforce that supports the Polytechnic’s mission and objectives. Key functions of the HR Department include:
- Planning and coordinating the recruitment and selection of staff
- Overseeing and facilitating orientation and induction programs for new employees
- Developing and coordinating staff training and capacity-building initiatives
- Supervising the maintenance and updating of staff records
- Guiding and supporting the management of employee relations and welfare programs
- Ensuring the implementation and compliance of HR policies
- Coordinating performance management processes
- Planning and monitoring staff compensation and rewards systems
